Failed All-on-4 Revision Surgery

Your All-on-4 was supposed to give you permanent teeth. When it fails, Granite Bay has the expertise to make it right.

Last medically reviewed: • Updated monthly

Failed All-on-4 dental implants are among the most complex cases in implant dentistry — and one of our core specialties at Granite Bay Oral Surgery. We see patients whose All-on-4 has failed from chain centers, dental tourism destinations, and general dentists who attempted the procedure without sufficient surgical training.

Common Causes of All-on-4 Failure

The most frequent causes we see are peri-implantitis (infection destroying bone around implants), poor implant positioning due to inadequate planning, insufficient bone reduction before placement, cheap acrylic prostheses that degrade and harbor bacteria, and premature loading before osseointegration is complete. Learn more about why implants fail.

The Revision Process

We begin with comprehensive CBCT 3D imaging to assess remaining bone, current implant positions, and extent of damage. The revision may involve removing failed implants, treating infection, bone reconstruction, placement of new implants (potentially zygomatic implants if bone loss is severe), and fabrication of a new zirconia prosthesis.

If You Have Been Told Nothing Can Be Done

Many patients come to us after being turned away by other providers. Between our expertise in bone reconstruction and zygomatic implants, very few cases are truly untreatable. Send us your records for a free case review — we accept patients from across California and out of state.
