Dental emergencies — severe infections, knocked-out teeth, jaw fractures, uncontrolled bleeding — require immediate treatment by a surgeon equipped to handle them. Dr. Kahwach provides same-day emergency consultations for acute surgical conditions, with in-office IV sedation and general anesthesia available for immediate intervention.

Emergency Conditions We Treat

Dental abscess / severe infection — incision and drainage, extraction of the causative tooth, antibiotic therapy. Untreated dental infections can spread to fascial spaces of the neck and airway — a life-threatening emergency called Ludwig's angina.

Avulsed (knocked-out) teeth — reimplantation within 30–60 minutes gives the best chance of survival. If a tooth is knocked out, place it in milk or saline and come immediately.

Jaw fracturesmandibular and midface fractures from trauma, falls, sports injuries, or motor vehicle accidents.

Uncontrolled post-extraction bleeding — hemorrhage after dental procedures that does not respond to home measures.

Acute TMJ dislocation — jaw locked open and unable to close. Requires manual reduction.
